The ABCs of Korey? Adventure. Beer. Cats.
Sarcasm is always welcome (and encouraged) here. When I’m not taking photos of adventurous couples, I’m probably editing photos with a beer in hand and a cat on my lap.
I’ll show you my quirks if you show me yours!
I’m better at deep talk than I am small talk, so I’m gonna get a little vulnerable with you for a moment. Empowering couples to embrace their authentic selves is so important to me because I know how it feels to be boxed in by others’ expectations.
For the better part of my life, I was told who to be and how to think. My path was predetermined, and I was expected to follow a strict path. Instead of growing up feeling like the world was full of possibilities, I found comfort in books, escaping to magical worlds and exciting destinations.
Now, I cheer couples on as they dare to show up as their authentic selves on their wedding day. After eloping with my husband just a few years ago, I experienced the firsthand magic of intimate, nature-inspired weddings.
I want to support people that feel the most alive when surrounded by nature, because SAME.
Long before I met my husband, Jeff, I remember scrolling past the dreamiest photo on Pinterest. It featured a bride and groom running up a hill in their wedding attire with backpacks on. The looks on their faces were pure joy, and I immediately pinned it to my secret wedding board. I wanted THAT!
Several years later, on my first date with Jeff, we went on an 8-mile hike (featuring breakfast and lunch because we’d both worked up appetites!) Several months later, Jeff proposed to me at sunrise after an epic Sedona hike to the top of Cathedral Rock. On the flight home, I casually said, “what would you think about eloping…?” even though I was thinking pleasesayyespleasesayyespleasesayyes! Naturally, Jeff was in.
Our non-negotiables included hiking, donuts, beer, kick-ass scenery, and mountain views in a totally new-to-us place. And that’s how we ended up getting married in a state that neither of us knew anything about except that they grew potatoes there. Idaho. We eloped in the Sawtooth Mountains amidst breathtaking views and some unforgettable hikes. We didn’t feel stressed or exhausted throughout the process, just excited about another adventure together. This experience inspired me to pursue photography and get involved in the elopement process for others, too.
